A line of showers and storms that swept over Lake Michigan and into West Michigan overnight Tuesday produced widespread wind damage, causing hundreds of thousands to lose power.
With another rounds of storms Wednesday night, the restoration estimate for some has been pushed back to Saturday morning.
Well over 200,000 Consumers Energy customers remained without power Wednesday night, up from around 170,000 earlier in the day but down from a high of nearly 222,000. Kent County was among the hardest-hit, with more than 40,000 customers without power at one point.
