ABOUT SERENA…

A Yoga Practitioner for over 10 years and a Communications & Marketing professional for over 20, Serena embarked on the podcast game (Life Vocabulary) in 2016 to document insight captured from conversations with creatives, musicians, producers, thinkers, and creators. Recovering creatively and re-discovering her creativity after suffering a series of setbacks, creating content for an audience of creative minded listeners and viewers became the antidote. She launched “Coaching with Serena” in 2021.

Lighting the path for others is a mission that has kept me digging deeper to question ideas and biases that I and others retain, especially ones that block the path to growth and vibrating at optimum levels.
The tentacles of Serena’s mission extend to her podcast and YouTube channel where she provides commentary on self development (re-launched in 2021); vlogs to document her own path as a recovering-creative (and single adoptive mother); a weekly blog where she provides reflections to enhance our lifestyles and wellbeing; and her short punchy insights on instagram and TikTok.

“Walking the talk is a precursor to producing all my content for my independent platforms but also working with individuals and organisations. I use creativity as an antidote to shift our mindsets. No I don’t ask clients to start crafting (although there’s nothing like a creative task to shift our energy)… I work in a highly attuned and bespoke way. All I ask is for clients to be open.”

Being a creative herself, Serena will be releasing a short film in the medium of spoken word poetry in the Summer of 2021 where she documents the impact of cultural oppression in south asian culture, and is sharing her process of creative recovery in her first non-fiction novel published by Life Vocabulary Press in 2022 - a multi-media production division headed by her and her production company Huss Art House.

“Having spent 20 years in public relations and communications, and starting out in print media, I am dedicated to help propel change-makers in their own missions by strategising and crafting their content direction and supporting the building of their communities online and offline.”

A Yoga and an alternative health practitioner for more than 10 years, in 2020 Serena decided to blend all her holistic, creative, and strategic expertise with to provide coaching to individuals and entities specifically to produce new creative pathways for mindset shifts.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

This book to discover and recover your creativity. I read it after coming out of a traumatic experience and it became my go-to book and journaling practice to help get me out of my funk: https://amzn.to/2VSWJ9j (This link also pays me a lil sumthin so I appreciate your support).

My favourite microphone for podcasting and recording in general is:
https://amzn.to/2JRlZK0 (Again I benefit from this link only ... it's a fabulous microphone but you will need an XLR and also a soundcard/interface: https://amzn.to/2Ij1966 THIS is the one I have and I have leved it. If you're a musician - or aspiring - then it's definitely comes highly recommended). But a simpler soundcard/interface - middle person between your mic and computer - would be a FOCUSRITE https://amzn.to/3ooEOmX. Now I don't have this but so many have recommended it. The Yamaha that I have recommended gives 2 inputs. It's also phantom powered. It comes down to your individual preference ;). Should we come off our phones entirely or is that too hasty?
