Brian Laundrie did not take his phone and wallet with him when he left his family home last week, which means it would be harder for police to track him. 23 year old Laundrie was reported missing by his parents on September 17. But he was gone since the 14th when he went for a hike at a Florida reserve. Laundrie has been named a person of interest in the death of his fiancée, Gabby Petito. Petito was reported missing 10 days after Brian returned home on September 1st. Gabrielle’s mother reported her missing on September 11th. Gabby had previously been living with the Laundrie family for 2 years and she was Brian’s fiancée. So I find it suspicious that the Laundrie family weren’t the ones to report her missing. More on that in a bit.
A source said that he didn't bring his cellphone and wallet when he left the home. Tracking people's phone and bank card usage is a common way for police find suspects and it’s making the search harder. The parents said they were concerned he might hurt himself.
I find his parents saying that they are concerned for his well being rather manipulative, in my opinion. They want to lead investigators into believing their son is no longer alive to call off the manhunt. But I believe Laundrie is still alive. For one, he has an attorney. Why would a dead person need an attorney? Two, I found the actions of the Laundrie family very misleading after Brian’s arrival on September 1st when he showed up to their residence in Gabby’s van, without Gabby. Laundrie and his parents immediately loaded up a camper van and went on a camping trip. I believe this was his getaway. There are no reports of Brian being seen back at his residence.
I think the parents are withholding information. I hope his parents are indicted, next. The FBI need to find proof of them aiding and abetting their son’s getaway including taking out large sums or cash or getting him a burner phone. They also need to be charged financially for the cost of the massive search that went underway.
