The National Assistance Card
Published at : September 29, 2021
The National Assistance Card, a Brain Injury Association of Tasmania initiative, has key information about a person with brain injury, their disability-related difficulties, and ways they can be assisted.
The National Assistance Card can explain the impacts a person with brain injury experiences, give them confidence knowing they can show their card if they get into difficulty in the community, and give carers, friends and family a sense of comfort knowing that a person who assists a cardholder can contact them.
The National Assistance Card Service can assist people with brain injury to feel more confident in everyday social situations, reduce the need for cardholders to continually explain the effects of their brain injury and increase community understanding of brain injury.
