BTS is currently the most successful boyband in the world right now with an estimated earning of $50 million per year. Because of this BigHit has become the biggest entertainment agency in South Korea surpassing the big three; JYP, SM and YG entertainment. So it is not shocking that BTS get special treatment from BigHit compared to how other Kpop idol groups are treated in the industry.
In 2020, BigHit upgraded their headquarters to a new 19 story building located in Yongsan, Seoul. Due to BTS immense success across the globe by selling out stadium tickets, merch and BTS music, BigHit was able to move into a better working environment for both BTS and their staff. Just so you know how BTS are different from any other group under BigHit, they had an entire museum dedicated to their achievements. HYBE Insight which is the name of BTS’ museum located in one of the basement floors. While other idols have their trophies at home, BigHit made sure BTS’ trophies were in a secure space where they can be admired and appreciated by fans and netizens. Despite HYBE Insight having projects by other idols like GFriend, and SEVENTEEN, it is mostly referred to as the BTS museum since they have more accomplishments to showcase. Even the diplomatic passports they were given by the President of South Korea, Moon, are displayed in the HYBE building.
