If You See These Signs | The Presence of The Lord is With You!
Christians often wonder if God is with them or not especially when they go through challenges. They often wonder where is God in all of this? Most Christians think God has abandoned them while others search for God frantically. Today’s topic is titled “5 signs God is on your side.” Please don’t forget to like this video, share it with others and subscribe to this YouTube channel for more videos like this.
We often love to know that we are not alone as humans. We crave for this from our friends and family. This isn’t a bad thing as it makes us feel safe and gives us confidence to keep doing what we are doing. Getting support from someone or people works as a drug. This is the reason why most psychologists recommend a great support system as it has become one of the most important needs in our world today. This is also very true for Christians. We want to know that as we take a step, God is with us. It is very important to have the consciousness of God being by because we know our victory lies there. It is therefore dangerous to assume that God is with us as this can lead to our destruction. We can learn an example from Joshua and the people of Israel in Joshua 7 vs 2 – 12 it says ‘Joshua sent some of his men from Jericho to spy out the town of Ai, east of Bethel, near Beth-aven. When they returned, they told Joshua, “There’s no need for all of us to go up there; it won’t take more than two or three thousand men to attack Ai. Since there are so few of them, don’t make all our people struggle to go up there.” So approximately 3,000 warriors were sent, but they were soundly defeated. The men of Ai chased the Israelites from the town gate as far as the quarries, and they killed about thirty-six who were retreating down the slope. The Israelites were paralyzed with fear at this turn of events, and their courage melted away. Joshua and the elders of Israel tore their clothing in dismay, threw dust on their heads, and bowed face down to the ground before the Ark of the LORD until evening. Then Joshua cried out, “Oh, Sovereign LORD, why did you bring us across the Jordan River if you are going to let the Amorites kill us? If only we had been content to stay on the other side! Lord, what can I say now that Israel has fled from its enemies? For when the Canaanites and all the other people living in the land hear about it, they will surround us and wipe our name off the face of the earth. And then what will happen to the honour of your great name?” But the LORD said to Joshua, “Get up! Why are you lying on your face like this? Israel has sinned and broken my covenant! They have stolen some of the things that I commanded must be set apart for me. And they have not only stolen them but have lied about it and hidden the things among their own belongings. That is why the Israelites are running from their enemies in defeat. For now, Israel itself has been set apart for destruction. I will not remain with you any longer unless you destroy the things among you that were set apart for destruction.”’ In this story, Joshua assumed God was with them as He always had been. If only He took time to consult God if He was going to go with them in battle as usual, this defeat by the small country Ai could have been avoided. This is why it is very important to pray and ask God for forgiveness of sins because God is holy and no matter how much He loves us; He cannot be stuck with people who sin. It is also important like Moses to commune with God and say as he did in Exodus 33 vs 15. It reads ‘Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.’ As Christians, we should always strive to see that God is on our side. And usually He will be when we do all we ought to do like obeying His commandments. There are signs that show us that God is with us.
1. God’s Word says so: The Word of God has shown us that He will always be with us. Joshua 1 vs 9 says “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” God’s Word shows us the boundary of His commitment to us and we know that He is a God that keeps His Word. Numbers 23 vs 19 says “God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?” As long as you are walking with God and doing what He commands, you don’t need to fear because He is always with you as He has said.
