Republican Senator Ron Johnson told Fox News over the weekend that Americans should "pray" for Democratic gridlock to continue in Washington, D.C. The gridlock Johnson is referring to is the impasse regarding the budget reconciliation bill and the infrastructure bill - two items that would provide relief for millions of Americans. But that's not what Johnson or the Republicans want to see happen, as Farron Cousins explains.

Republican Senator Ron Johnson from Wisconsin accidentally let the cat out of the bag this past weekend, during an interview on Fox news with host Maria, Bartiromo when Johnson declared that he wants everyone to pray for democratic gridlock in Washington, DC. Here is exactly what he said. I hope for Democrat gridlock, you know, oftentimes in Washington, DC gridlock is the better alternative, but when it's Democrat gridlock, pray for it. I hope that's exactly what happens now, Mr. Johnson here, because I do not respect him enough to address him with the title of Senator. But what Mr. Johnson is referring to here is of course, the three and a half trillion dollar budget reconciliation bill and the separate infrastructure package, Mr. Johnson does not want these things to pass. And the reason he doesn't want these items to pass is because they contain a lot of really great things for the American public tangibles, as we call them, meaning the average American family out there.

If these two pieces of legislation both pass the average American family is going to see a tangible benefit from it, either in the form of reduced per prescription drug prices, which is part of the legislation until of course, cinnamon mansion, strip it out. They're going to see green, new jobs created as part of the green new deal and less of course, mansion and cinema. Take that out as well, which they're trying to do that they could potentially see the age of Medicare eligibility lowered to age 60, which of course would help millions of people with their healthcare expenses. Universal childcare is part of this all kinds of things that again, would benefit the average American family, not to mention the infrastructure, the new jobs that come along with that, which let's be honest in infrastructure package really is a jobs package, but Mr. Johnson does not want this thing to pass.

He wants it to remain gridlocked because of people like mansion and cinema, and then versus the rest of the democratic party. And the reason for that is one because Mr. Johnson doesn't give a about the average American family doesn't care if you live or die, but two it's because if the Democrats do this, that bodes well for their chances in the 2022 midterms. So Mr. Johnson and the rest of the Republican party would rather see you and your family struggle than to see Democrats prevail in the 2022 midterms. Why? Because to these Republicans, and let's be honest to most of those Democrats in DC as well. It's all team sports. It's a zero sum game. Either you win or you lose and your team is the only thing that matters. It doesn't matter what happens to the fans out there, the American public, who gives a about them, right?

That's how politicians operate. It's about the fans. It's just about your team. You're out there playing quarterback. And you've got to make sure that at whatever the cost is, you drive that ball down the field. And that way you either win or you lose. There are no ties in politics, but because we have this team sports, yes or no win or lose mentality here, the American people continue to suffer. It's not like the Republicans are opposed to these two pieces of legislation because the price tag is too high. That's BS. They're lying to you about that. It's not because they're opposed to it because they think they've got something better waiting in the wings. And they say, no, no, no, we don't need this. We got a much better piece of legislation here. The Republicans have no alternatives. They never do. They never have. They're not very good at coming up with ideas unless it's stop people from voting and cut their taxes. Well, not their taxes. He wealthy elites taxes. That's all they know how to do. So Johnson's going to continue to sit there along with his fellow Republicans root for democratic gridlock. As he said, pray for democratic gridlock, not giving a what happens to the average, struggling American out there in America. Those aren't the people he cares about. He cares about his donors. He cares about his team and that's why he wants this legislation to fail. Republican Senator Urges Americans To Pray For Congressional Gridlock
