SIGNS GOD IS TELLING YOU TO STOP TRYING HARD AND ALLOW HIM TO DO IT
Oftentimes, we try very hard to achieve results we believe will better our lives, results we have set as a minimum mark for our personal lives. A lot of people have taken on projects and accepted offers that do not exactly put them in positions of comfort but because of the success they want to portray to the world, because of the impressions they try to create about themselves, they labour too hard to become who they think they should be.
As individuals living every day, seeking comfort and attempting to lead our lives in ways that people coming after us can model after, many at times get ourselves to points where we cannot exactly say for sure if we have achieved what we set out to get. The wealth is not the problem because it is already achieved, neither is it materiality because you can afford all you seem to desire per time but the satisfaction that you thought should accompany all that you have is seemingly absent and you keep trying to crack the hard nut.
There are too many people around us who are doing much more than they can do per time because they are trying to achieve success. A host of others get into so much labouring that they do not realise they drain their minds out of its ideal state of proper functionality, constantly taking thoughts, steps, actions that lead to worry and more stress within the body, soul and spirit.
Many men have been taught that working hard or going home is the only way to achieve reputable success. Unknown to many, they have been shown the path that leads them to a state of being completely rid of their peace and joy to receive the satisfaction that presumably comes from being content with one’s work. You know, like God looked at the creation of His hands on the sixth day and by all means was content, after which He rested. He seemed to have gotten satisfaction from fulfilling the desires of His heart and many of us have attempted to tread that same path but all to no avail.
Constantly treading the paths of falsehood, these men have their minds steadily led into the trap of emptiness where no seeming source of hope and livelihood is present to provide the ultimate goal they seek - joy! Their minds get fatigued by the vagueness they constantly find in their pursuit. The hopelessness they encounter constantly dashes every trace of life and livelihood from their being. They only get themselves used; they labour without any trace of fruitfulness to present for their constant and consistent labour.
You might find these situations similar to your present experience or the same experiences you've been through in time past and you're wondering, "What exactly did I miss out on?" Well, don't worry further, let's explore this question and understand a few unacknowledged normalities about our present world.
Every person was created to depend on a realm beyond the physical for existence and functionality. The unbelieving man might depend on his intellect or mind for every day’s dealing, the believer understands that the physical realm’s existence depends on existence in the spiritual realm. Basic truth is that the physical being was created to depend on the spiritual realm for his survival. Whether depending on the spirit of God or the devil’s trickery, every man consciously or unconsciously depends on the spirit realm for survival.
This dependence tells largely what experience each man will be subjected to. Whether led by God or the devil, every man’s experience will tell. The man who finds it difficult to experience contentment and joy even in difficult times can tell from his source; what he constantly derives his daily direction from.
Let’s examine this:
The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city.
Ecclesiastes 10:15 (KJV)
From this scripture, it is quite obvious that every man labours but only the labour of a fool births weariness. Labouring is usually done to the end that a result might be achieved. No man sets out to labour without having a goal and intended result in mind. But the wise king was portraying to us a contradictory ideology that stems from a concept. Only the labour of a fool births weariness, there certainly has to be a factor that is responsible for the difference in experience between the fool and the man who does not experience weariness. Your guess is as right as mine- the background factor they depend on for their livelihood.
Let’s consider it in contemporary English:
Fools wear themselves out – they don’t know enough to find their way home.
