A bipartisan group of lawmakers, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, have called for at least a diplomatic boycott of the Games, a move to protest against China's abuses of human rights.
But a diplomatic boycott would fall short according to Cotton, who has
argued that athletes could face security issues that would include
"ubiquitous surveillance" of bathroom facilities and their electronic devices
also DNA Harvesting.
Biden’s comments also come as Beijing faces growing condemnation over the case of the tennis star Peng Shuai who accused a former high-ranking official of sexually assaulting her.
