The “Make it make sense!” campaign builds on HCCs regional advocacy for healthy food policy including front of package nutrition warning labelling (FOPWL), regulation of the sale and marketing of ultra-processed foods and beverages in school settings and fiscal policies such as taxation of sugar sweetened beverages (SSBs). The HCC has highlighted that one of the major barriers to accelerated implementation of the healthy food policy in the region is weak management of conflicts of interest and industry interference, resulting in delayed, diluted or altogether derailed healthy food policy.

The campaign supports healthier diets and a reduction in obesity and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) among Caribbean people through the adoption and implementation of evidenced-based healthy food policies.
