Crusty Puppy Covered in Painful Sores Plagued by Insidious Skin Disease
Published at : September 22, 2022
Phoenix's crusty, irritated, and inflamed skin is crawling with parasitic mites.
This poor boy has mange, a horrible, painful skin disease caused by microscopic mites that live in his hair follicles and cause severe skin disease. Mange itself is treatable and not typically fatal, but untreated mange can lead to deadly skin infections that threaten to take a dog's life.
In a perfect world, Phoenix should have been taken to the vet as soon as he began showing signs of mange, such as hair loss, intense and frequent scratching, crusty and flaky skin, rash, and lesions. However, without medical treatment, Phoenix's health is rapidly declining.
The mites live in her hair follicles and introduce bacteria into the deepest layers of the skin, which requires treatment to heal the skin and control the mites. The most effective forms of treatment are hair clipping, medicated shampoos to heal and soften the skin, and topical applications to kill the mites.
Phoenix's tender body is covered in large, painful sores that ooze pus from head to paw. It's really sad to see the consequences of long-term neglect on an innocent puppy who only wants to be loved and accepted.
We are doing everything in our power to help poor Phoenix but we operate solely on donations and don't have enough funds for his critical treatment. We're relying on our generous supporters to help raise enough funds for his medical care and recovery.
Please consider helping sweet little Phoenix by donating to his medical fund or sending a get-well gift from his wishlist, such as food, treats, and supplements. Animal Help Alliance is a 501c3 nonprofit organization and all donations are fully tax-deductible.
