It’s time for round two in the EU vs Hungary battle. A week after the two sides reached a deal, the European Union is now having second thoughts. Last week, Hungary accepted the bloc's Ukraine aid package in exchange for the EU partially unblocking the cohesion money for Budapest. But now, Brussels has cast fresh aspersions on the Orban-led nation's ability to meet the requirements for the bailout package. It has reiterated its stance on democratic backsliding under Viktor Orban. And consequently, the European Commission has decided to withhold a 22-billion-euro package for Hungary.
