NSW SES' Barry Griffiths has provided an update on the unfolding flooding situation in the town of Forbes, in the Central West region of New South Wales.
Mr Griffiths said the Lachlan River is continuing to rise and is "slowly starting to inundate" the eastern and southern parts of Forbes.
"Through the town it's still quite calm," he told Sky News Australia.
"It's probably the calm before, I guess, the anticipated storm."
